Our plants grow because of their increase in cells. Photosynthesis gives the plants energy, and this energy is used to activate mitosis and slowly expand the plants’ size. When mitosis happens, cells are duplicated, and the duplicates are identical to their “parent cells,” and these increasing number of cells increase the size of each plant.
To create enzymes, each cell’s nucleus sends a signal to its rough endoplasmic reticulum, or perhaps simply throughout the cell to the random assorted ribosomes floating in the cytoplasm. The ribosomes on the endoplasmic reticulum and floating in the cytoplasm then begin to build proteins.
