Living or Not

Our largest plant is now 21 inches, or about 55 centimeters, and all our plants are looking healthy.  We know that our plants are legitimate living creatures because they reproduce, they respire, they intake (some form) of food for energy, they grow and they have a cellular structure.  Our plants have changed since the days they were seedlings; they’ve grown full leaves and stems, and they’re now tall enough to get sunlight.  Ways to measure that our plants are alive besides size would include respiration rates, reproduction rates, food intake rates, and the cellular structure itself.
